  1. With permission, this tutorial is made by using Japhe's Bear Outline. Thank you Japhe for letting me use this cute outline! Open the outline below in Animation Shop and export it to Paint Shop Pro.

  2. Set your Paint Brush settings to: Square, Size 1, Hardness, Density, Thickness and Opacity all at 100, and Step at 25.

  3. Magnify image to 500% and color outlines and make fills as follows: Bear Outline = #BD8459 and Bear Fill = #F1C9AF, Shirt Outline = #8DA282 and Shirt Fill = #C3D0BC, Pants Outline = #3A6376 and Pants Fill = #4C8098, Nose Outline = #000000 and Nose Fill = #404040, Muzzle Fill = #F9E7DB. Your image should now look like this:

  4. Use the Magic Wand to select the inside area of both ears, Float Selection and apply following cutout: Color = #BD8459, Vertical and Horizontal = 0, Opacity = 100, Blur = 4.

  5. Use the Magic Wand to select the inside area of the head (NOT the muzzle), Float Selection and apply following cutout: Color = #BD8459, Vertical and Horizontal = 0, Opacity = 100, Blur = 7.

  6. Use the Magic Wand to select the inside area of both hands, Float Selection and apply following cutout: Color = #BD8459, Vertical and Horizontal = 0, Opacity = 100, Blur = 2.

  7. Use the Magic Wand to select the inside area of both feet, Float Selection and apply following cutout: Color = #BD8459, Vertical and Horizontal = 0, Opacity = 100, Blur = 2.

  8. Use the Magic Wand to select the inside area of the muzzle, Float Selection and apply following cutout: Color = #BD8459, Vertical and Horizontal = 0, Opacity = 100, Blur = 2.

  9. Use the Magic Wand to select the inside areas of the shirt and both sleeves, Float Selection and apply following cutout: Color = #8DA282, Vertical and Horizontal = 0, Opacity = 100, Blur = 4.

  10. Use the Magic Wand to select the inside area of the Pants (OMIT the trim areas), Float Selection and apply following cutout: Color = #3A6376, Vertical and Horizontal = 0, Opacity = 100, Blur = 3.

  11. Use the Magic Wand to select the inside area of the Pant Trims (Cuffs, Neck and Pocket), Flood Fill with color #5189A3. Leave selected, Adjust Brightness = 20. Leave selected, Add Noise - 5% Uniform. Deselect. Your image should now look like this:

  12. Using Colors #C0C0C0 and #797171, Shade the eyes and nose as shown below:

  13. Using Color #BD8459, Draw some fuzz around the bear as shown below:

  14. Reduce magnification back to original size of 100% and your finished image should now look like this:
