Before starting this tutorial you will need to download Mary Dog's special Peanut Butter & Jelly tube and install it in your tube directory. You can do so now by clicking here!

  1. Open a new image size 100 x 100 with a transparent background and 24 bit color. Magnify the image to 600%. Using my guide below, draw the outline with your paint brush settings at: Shape - Round, Opacity, Thickness and Hardness at 100, Size 1, Blend Mode at Normal. Use the provided color guide to set your foreground color to accordingly, Color #1 for the Lid Outline, Color #6 for the Jar Outline, Color #5 for the Label Outline. I have provided a number representing the length of lines which are greater than 1 or 2 pixels in length accordingly next to that line.

  2. Use the Magic Wand to select the inside area of the lid and flood fill with color #2 from the color guide and leave selected. Texture Effects - Blinds: Width 2, Opacity 100, Light from Left Top checked, Horizontal UNchecked, Color #3 from the color guide. Deselect.

  3. Set your Foreground color to color #2 from the color guide. Use the Magic Wand to select the inside area of the label and flood fill with the Button White Gradient: Angle 0, Repeats 0, Style Linear. Repeat a flood fill with the same gradient and settings except this time check invert. Selections float, Effects 3D - Cutout: Vertical & Horizontal both at 0, Opacity at 100%, Blur 8, Color #3 from the color guide. Deselect.

  4. Use the Magic Wand to select the inside area of the Jar, Use the provided PB & Jelly Tube you downloaded to fill the selection with just Peanut Butter. Keep clicking until you have the Peanut Butter the way you want it. Selections float, Effects 3D - Cutout: Vertical & Horizontal both at 0, Opacity at 100%, Blur 6, Color #6 from the color guide. Deselect. This is what you should have so far:

  5. Reduce magnification to 100%. Use Text Tool to center some text across your label using a font size of about 4 to 5 and Color #4 from the color guide. That's it, you're done!
